Italy increasingly gripped by the great heat but also Naples which appears in the list of cities with a red dot for tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.
According to the latest update of the heat wave bulletin edited by the Ministry of Health, the level 3 alert – the highest – which today affects 12 cities, will affect 16 tomorrow and 17 the day after tomorrow.
Today the “red dot” applies to Bologna, Bolzano, Brescia, Florence, Frosinone, Latina, Palermo, Perugia, Rieti, Rome, Turin and Verona. Tomorrow these cities will be joined by Genoa, Milan, Naples and Trieste and on Wednesday also Venice.
The indications of the Ministry of Health
The level 3 alert, the ministry recalls, involves "possible negative effects on the health of healthy and active people and not only on risk subgroups such as the elderly, very young children and people with chronic diseases".
And "the longer the heat wave, the greater the expected negative effects on health": in almost all the cities indicated we are at three or more consecutive days of "red dot".
Real and perceived temperatures will also increase further, reaching peaks of 39 degrees tomorrow in Brescia and Florence; 38 in Cagliari, Catania, Frosinone, Latina, Milan, Naples, Trieste, Verona and Viterbo; 37 in Messina, Perugia, Reggio Calabria, Rome and Turin.
The day after tomorrow, Wednesday, 40 degrees in Florence; 39 in Brescia; 38 in Catania, Latina, Milan, Naples, Perugia, Trieste and Viterbo; 37 in Bologna, Cagliari, Frosinone, Messina, Reggio Calabria and Turin.
