The Carabinieri of the Giugliano in Campania radiomobile section during a patrol operation in via Alcide De Gasperi in Qualiano last night arrested a car thief. The accomplice is being sought.
The night is quiet, the city half empty. There are few people around and the soldiers easily notice two people climbing down from the first floor of an apartment building. They are dressed in black and both are wearing baseball caps: the stereotype of a burglar. They run away, they know they have been caught.
The blue lights of the flashing lights are getting closer and closer, they are behind them. The carabinieri block one of the two, the one with the stolen goods. The other manages to escape.
It is Nicholas of the Priest, 40 year old from Piscinola already known to the police
The stolen items (almost exclusively jewelry) were returned to the owner who was out of town at the time. The 40-year-old was taken to prison, awaiting trial while investigations continue for the accomplice.
