“The numbers of the Covid they remain largely manageable today, there is a slight increase in ordinary hospitalizations, but we absolutely remain at zero for intensive care". Thus Antonio Postiglione, Director General for Health Protection and Coordinator of the Health System of the Campania, explains the steps to protect against possible contagion.
“We applied them – explains Postiglione – even in a slightly stronger way than those indicated in two indications to health facilities in May and August to remain cautious”. In Campania in hospital facilities, the obligation to wear protective masks in all departments has returned for those who work there, for patients and for those who visit hospitalized people.
Children under 6 and people with pathologies or disabilities incompatible with the mask are exempt from the obligation to wear a mask. There is also the obligation to perform the diagnostic swab for covid on anyone who enters the emergency room and is suffering from a fever and respiratory symptoms.
The swab is always necessary for patients who have been to the Emergency Room and are then admitted to hospital wards. The swab is also necessary for relatives who access health facilities to find patients. Protective masks are mandatory for workers, patients and visitors to social-health facilities, social-assistance facilities, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation facilities, residential facilities for the elderly or non-self-sufficient people, clinics and care areas of basic health districts.
