Fifteen people, including the current mayor of Fifteen, in the province of Avellino, Eduardo Rubinaccio, will be judged for forgery of a public document.
This is the decision of the Judge for the Preliminary Hearing of the Court of Avellino, Francesca Spella, at the end of the investigations, notified to the suspects in January, on the alleged false residence in the municipality of Quindici. This false residence would have had a significant impact on Rubinaccio's victory in the 2020 administrative elections.
The investigation focused on six individuals, most of whom came from the province of Napoli, who, after declaring a new residence in the municipality of Quindici, had temporarily moved to a home made available by the mayor. Subsequently, these same individuals moved back to their municipalities of origin a few months after the elections. The investigation originated from a complaint filed shortly after the elections, in which Rubinaccio had obtained the victory with a margin of 94 votes over his opponent.
The trial will begin on March 6 of the following year before the judge of the Court of Avellino, Fabrizio Ciccone. This legal proceeding will determine the outcome of the accusations of forgery of public documents made against the people involved, including the current mayor of Quindici.
