UNovember is a busy month for the circulation of Körper productions, the National Dance Production Centre active on the national and international scene.
On November 11, choreographer Francesco Marilungo will be at the Crisalide Festival in Forlì with the performance Dove lei non è, a choreographic research project on ritual crying, on the presence-absence dichotomy relating to the deceased loved one. The title is taken from the mourning diary written by Roland Barthes after the death of his mother: a diary that is the guardian of a different daily life now that the loved one is no longer there. Writing and movement become a continuous and fragmentary expression of a lacerating feeling associated with emptiness, with loss, a sensation that in reality reveals a constant presence.
After the preview at the Staatstheater in Darmstadt (Germany), on November 18 and 19 the regional debut of Vanishing Place, the new work by Neapolitan dancer and choreographer Luna Cenere, will take place at the Teatro Ferdinando in Naples. The project focuses on the observation of corporeality as a true landscape: her research highlights the body's ability to abstract itself and become a poetic element without ever abandoning the concreteness of form and gesture.
Through a practice that generates space and emptiness in the performers, the choreographer makes them 'disappear' to allow the gestures, shapes and details of the body to emerge. Focusing on the space between the bodies, the quality of breathing and adagio, the movements of light, the architectural elements of the scene and the sound carpet, Luna Cenere creates a surreal landscape always in motion.
On November 25 and 26 it will be the turn of the Young Körper Company, which already debuted at the Teatro Nuovo in Naples last October and will perform at the Körper space with two excerpts from Vuoto by Susanna Sastro and Vivianesque conceived and directed by Gennaro Cimmino, two intimately articulated productions from the repertoire of the Körper Company.
Vuoto was born to tell the need to search for answers. The dancers are confronted with a reality that is difficult to express, the study of body movement is the product of what happens in the head, the sound refers to a past that has the flavor of jazz, and the setting is that of a black and white film. Vivianesque, on the other hand, is a multidisciplinary show on the border between popular theater, contemporary dance, acrobatic dance, singing and electronic music. A choral fresco on the cardinal points and archetypal figures that run through his work, with a musical progression that transfigures traditional songs and an immersion in an extreme, conceptual transvestism, in which bodies become abstractions and the original texts become battle and pain songs.
The young performers will bring on stage some excerpts of the shows through a reworking designed specifically for this new phase of the training course, deepening the dramaturgy, the contents and the questions that the two authors ask themselves about contemporary society.
Neapolitan choreographer Adriano Bolognino will present his Trittico at the Teatro San Fedele in Montone, in the province of Perugia. On November 26, the three performances Come neve, Gli Amanti and Your Body is a Battleground will drag the spectator's gaze into a delicate and poetic dimension through three incisive and different stories.
Come neve starts from the image of snow observed through the eyes of a child and continues towards the memory and the sense of well-being, protection and community that comes from it; the second performance takes inspiration from the cast of The Lovers dating back to 79 AD, bringing to light a love suddenly interrupted by the overbearing force of nature, but preserved forever; Your body is a battleground instead questions the value of social roles: the title refers to the image in by Barbara Kruger, created and spread for the women's march in Washington in 1989, a large demonstration in favor of women's freedom of self-determination over their own bodies and abortion in the USA.
To conclude the November events, Cloud by Giovanfrancesco Giannini at the Festival Racconti di altre Danze in Livorno, on stage on November 26 at the Spazio Atelier delle Arti.

From 13 to 22 November the choreographer will also be in artistic residence at the Theater L'Aire Libre – Le Jolie Collectif in Saint Jacques de la Lande.
Giovanfrancesco Giannini, Roberta Racis and Fabio Novembrini will work on the Vanitas project: starting from a reflection on sixteenth-century vanitas as a pictorial genre, the creative process reflects on how the iconography of vanity is expressed in the contemporary. The work is conceived as a multimedia score in which three performers create a series of videos live, projected during the performance: echoes of forms and iconographies of the past interact with the mechanisms of auto-fiction and identity construction of social networks.
