The officers of the Environmental Protection and Anti-Abusive Building Operations Unit, in via Nuova Toscanella (neighborhood Chiaiano), discovered that, on an area of approximately 1500 m200, earth moving, excavation and levelling operations had been carried out, with the uprooting of trees for the purpose of creating a logistics unit intended for vehicle parking. In the area, there was also a shed with a sheet metal covering which, supported by ten iron pillars, delineated a further area of approximately XNUMX mXNUMX.
The presence of piles of special waste stacked in several places was also ascertained, consisting of demolition aggregates mixed with cement and asphalt, wooden platforms and waste from telephone and electrical wiring works. The moved soil, partly dumped in the quarry, was mixed with waste of different types and nature; cans of solvents, plastic parts and demolition aggregates could be seen with the naked eye.
During the check, the presence of a large tank was also detected, over 20 thousand liters, full of fuel for which the offender, CD, 28 years old, from Naples, was unable to provide any authorization. The officers proceeded to seize the portion of the area, the waste, the fuel tank and to report the owner to the Public Prosecutor's Office for the crimes committed. At the same time, the personnel of the Environmental Protection Operational Unit intervened in Via Bosco di Capodimonte to ascertain an illegal dumping of waste.
The officers found a large quantity of special waste abandoned on the ground, clearly the result of construction work. The officers' intervention allowed them to surprise the perpetrator of the crime, FS, 29 years old, resident in Napoli, to whom, in addition to the administrative sanction, since he was unable to produce any disposal contract, the waste was entrusted to his custody, which was seized, until its correct disposal at his expense and according to the instructions that the judicial authority will provide.
