Naples, assaults and thefts in Chiaia: 7 arrests

After six months of investigations, the circle has closed around those responsible for the violent assault and attempted robbery against an employee of Flanagan's Cocktail Bar in the neighborhood Chiaia: four people aged 21, 23, 24 and 42 were arrested by the police

The order for precautionary custody in prison was issued by the investigating judge of the court of Napoli at the request of the Neapolitan prosecutor's office.

The facts date back to last August 8. From the victims' statements and from the video surveillance cameras, it emerged that some individuals riding scooters attempted to steal the scooter of a bar employee.

The victim noticed the theft and left the premises, forcing the criminals to flee.
The group returned, however, and attacked the victim and three other bar employees with helmets, causing them head injuries.

The attackers then fled without managing to steal the scooter.

At the same time as the arrest of the four, two other precautionary measures were carried out against two people for two scooter thefts that occurred between 8 and 13 September 2023.
A 38-year-old was arrested for two motorcycle thefts and a 20-year-old was placed under house arrest for the theft of a scooter.

The investigations were coordinated by the Naples prosecutor's office and the prosecutor's office for minors in Napoli, given the participation in the robbery of an indictable minor.
The investigations were conducted by the Naples Flying Squad and the San Ferdinando and Ponticelli police stations.
