Aliano, pigs seized in livestock farm

The soldiers of the Carabinieri Forestry Unit of Alife (CE), together with the veterinary doctors of the ASL Caserta – “UOV Matesino of Piedimonte Matese (CE), carried out an inspection at a livestock farm located in the municipality of Ailano (CE), finding an illicit agronomic use of livestock effluents produced by buffalo farming due to a failure to communicate to the competent provincial office of the Campania Region and also due to structural and health deficiencies. The legal representative was admitted to the procedure of environmental requirements that allow, if fulfilled within the prescribed terms, the extinction of the crime upon payment of an administrative fine.

Furthermore, the presence of a pig farm not registered with the competent ASL/CE - Veterinary Operations Unit of Piedimonte Matese was also ascertained, consisting of 12 animals, of which two sows, a boar and nine suckling pigs of about two months of age, which would appear to belong to a very valuable breed known as the "Black Pig of Nebrodi". These animals were subjected to administrative seizure for the purposes of protecting public health and livestock, promptly transmitted to the competent regional health authorities in the matter, in consideration of the obligations arising from the current health emergency for swine fever, pursuant to Ministerial Order no. 5 of 24 August 2023, and subsequent extensions thereof.
