“A team with our quality can’t concede so many goals, we lacked nastiness when not in possession.”
These are the words of Francesco Calzona, Napoli coach, speaking to Sky Sport following the 2-2 home draw against Frosinone.
“We managed the game badly, especially when we were ahead, when I asked for a more skillful ball control – admitted the coach of the Italian champions –
At the end of the first half I told the team that with this attitude we would not win and unfortunately that was the case. We conceded too much and we had to bring home this result.
It's a management problem, as well as some defensive difficulties. We lacked nastiness in winning back the ball, making a team like Frosinone play, who are comfortable on the pitch.
A team of our level cannot concede so many goals. The important thing is not to always win 4-0, but not to concede goals.
The thing that bothers me is that we were always in the game, without ever perceiving the danger. We created a lot – concluded Calzona – but I never had the feeling of a solid team”.
