Bitter draw for Napoli, who cannot go beyond 2-2 against Eusebio Di Francesco's Frosinone, losing ground again for a Champions League place. The goals of Politano and Osimhen were answered by a brace from Cheddira, almost an ex of the match considering that his registration is owned by the same club from Campania.
Napoli had a great start, with Kvaratskhelia moving well between the lines after a quarter of an hour and passing to Osimhen, who was quick in the central conclusion, but Turati intervened. However, a few minutes later the Azzurri found the lead, thanks to Politano, who started from the right and moved to the centre and with a left-footed shot found the corner that made it 1-0.
Frosinone therefore goes off course and in the 20th minute concedes another chance to Napoli and Osimhen, on a long pass from Meret which is misread by Romagnoli but not exploited by the Nigerian who kicks wide. In the 28th minute, however, comes a favorable episode for Di Francesco's team, with Cheddira who is brought down in the area by Rrahmani and earns a penalty for his team: Soulé steps up to take the spot but is hypnotized by Meret and misses the chance to equalize.
In the second half, Calzona's team is still dangerous, with Osimhen's attack in depth, well served by Anguissa and cool in the lob that beats Turati but is saved by Romagnoli. At 50', however, Meret's mistake in the set-up is sensational, which in fact favors the winning shot by Cheddira that brings the score back to parity. 1-1 that will last until 64', when on the developments of a corner Kvaratskhelia hits the conclusion from outside the area on which Osimhen intervenes and pushes the ball into the net for the new advantage.
Frosinone, however, did not give up and ten minutes later they equalised again, once again with Cheddira who headed in Zortea's cross and beat Meret for the second time. In the final stages, the Azzurri made several attacks, but they finished with ten men due to Mario Rui's expulsion, leaving Frosinone with a key point in terms of salvation.
