An event dedicated to the book “Giada su una nuvola” took place at the Comprehensive Institute “Francesco d'Assisi – Nicola Amore”, in the Ponte di Ferro complex. The work narrates autism through the eyes of the protagonist Giada, written by Viviana Hutter and illustrated by Filippo Ferone, with the care of Susy Rea, the child's mother. The event offered an opportunity for reflection and sharing.
Involving the school community
The participation of Giada, a second grade student at the same institute, gave a special meaning to the meeting. Supported by the school principal Angela De Falco, the initiative actively involved classmates and teachers. The students of the fifth grades moderated the meeting, personally exploring the theme of living with autistic children.
A work of art for inclusion
In conjunction with the book presentation, a mural created by teachers Tonia and Antonella was inaugurated. Inspired by the work, the mural depicts Giada and her friends on clouds, a symbol of friendship and Giada's unique perception of the world. The presence of the councilors for social policies and education, Angela Auriemma and Veria Giordano, underlined the institutional commitment to inclusion. Susy Rea emphasized how the event improved understanding and acceptance of autism in the community.

The event dedicated to the book Giada on a cloud seems very important to me for the school community. Giada's participation was fundamental, as was the mural of the teachers representing friendship and Giada's world. I'm happy that there is attention towards autism.
