A dramatic episode shook Capaccio Paestum late yesterday evening: a teenager of just 15 years old was found in the street, unconscious and with a visible head wound, in circumstances that at the moment remain shrouded in mystery.
The discovery occurred around 23:30 pm, when some passers-by, noticing the young man's motionless body, immediately alerted the emergency services.
The 118 paramedics rushed to the scene and gave the boy first aid, stabilizing him before his emergency transfer. Transported in red code to the San Giovanni di Dio e Ruggi d'Aragona hospital in Salerno, the 15-year-old is now in critical condition and is under close medical monitoring.
Doctors, working to save his life, have not yet released a prognosis, maintaining confidentiality about his chances of recovery.
At the same time, the Carabinieri of the Capaccio station are investigating to reconstruct the dynamics of the facts and shed light on the causes of the accident. At the moment, the investigators are not ruling out any hypothesis: they are investigating to understand whether the injury is the result of an assault, an accident or a self-harming act.
No direct witnesses have yet come forward, and investigators are combing through every detail, looking for clues that might shed light on what happened.
