Naples – A step forward for sustainable mobility in Naples. The "Centro Direzionale" station on Metro Line 1 has officially opened to the public , marking the twentieth operational stop on the city's main line.
At the ceremony, Mayor Gaetano Manfredi emphasized the project's importance: "It's a crucial addition to the transportation network, allowing thousands of residents to avoid using their private cars, fostering the economic and social development of the entire area."
A turning point for traffic and the economy
The new station, located in the heart of the city's administrative and commercial hub, aims to revolutionize daily travel, reducing traffic congestion and improving accessibility to the area.
“The Management Centre has always been a priority for this Administration ,” reiterated Manfredi, thanking all the stakeholders involved: from the workers to ANM , from the Naples Metropolitan Company – which oversaw the construction of the infrastructure – to ANSFISA , the body that authorized its entry into service.
Next stop: Courthouse
With the opening of the "Centro Direzionale," Line 1 is nearing completion. The next milestone is the opening of the "Tribunale" station , currently under construction, which will complete the connection to the historic center and the judicial district.
Meanwhile, starting today, students, commuters and workers will be able to count on one more option to move efficiently and sustainably. A victory for Naples and for those who believe in an increasingly connected city.
