The checks by the Local Police continue without stopping Napoli to combat violations of the Highway Code, an activity started last year on the instructions of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety, led by Prefect Michele di Bari.
The goal is clear: to restore legality, with particular attention to the phenomenon of illegal parking attendants, often linked to organized crime, which creates inconvenience for citizens and problems with traffic.
The numbers of the operation
In the last week of March (from 22nd to 28th), the checks led to:
9 fines for the unauthorized exercise of parking activity, with 6 reports for repeat offenders;
232 vehicles removed, of which 25 were returned to their owners prior to relocation;
76 cars and motorbikes seized in a state of presumed abandonment;
4.679 fines issued for various infringements, with 696 immediate charges.
The work of the police forces was appreciated by the Prefect of Bari, who praised the commitment of the Local Police and other police forces involved. The activity will continue regularly to prevent crimes and guarantee safety for residents and tourists, with a view to zero tolerance towards those who threaten public order.
