Accident in Salerno, three dead. The mayor of Campagna proclaims a day of mourning

The municipality of Countryside is wrapped in grief after a tragic accident road accident that took the lives of Cosimo Filantropia and two police, Marshal Francesco Pastore and Select Corporal Francesco Ferraro.

The body of the pensioner Cosimo Filantropia, 75 years old from Campagna, is currently in the morgue of the Battipaglia hospital, where it has been placed under sequestration pending the autopsy. The mayor of Campagna, Biagio Luongo, expressed his deep sorrow for the loss of a friend and esteemed fellow citizen and proclaimed a day of mourning.

“I knew Cosimo, he lived in the historic center and had deep ties with the community. His disappearance and that of the brave carabinieri leave us shocked and saddened”, said Mayor Luongo. The mayor also wanted to extend his condolences to the family of Filantropia, reiterating the closeness of the entire community in this moment of grief: "I hope that tragedies like this never happen again. Campagna is preparing to live another day of pain for the loss of one of its fellow citizens."
