Durante la trasmissione “Si Gonfia la Rete” su Radio CRC, Raimondo Marine, former player of Napoli che ha militato anche con Antonio Tale al Lecce, ha espresso il suo parere su una possibile candidatura di Conte alla guida della squadra partenopea: “Neapolitans need a man like him,” Marino declared, referring to Conte.
“He is a good person and sincere in things. He is genuine like the Neapolitans.” Marino then addressed the issue of the relationship between Conte and the president of Napoli, Aurelio De Laurentiis. “Conte does not allow himself to be manipulated by others,” he has declared. “Everyone does their job and that's right, otherwise the players lose credibility with the coach.”
On Napoli's defensive front, Marino underlined the importance of the quality of the players and their physical and mental state. “For one word, friendship is lost,” has explained. “It happens that we argue in the locker room and it’s not easy there.” Finally, Marino shared his views on a possible failure in negotiations with Conte.
“If De Laurentiis fails to convince Conte,” he said, “I would take Italian because he is a calm, quiet person.” Regarding Napoli's hopes of qualifying for the Champions League, Marino was optimistic but stressed the importance of team cohesion. “I am confident that he will make it,” he has declared, “but it is necessary that the players help each other and not wage war.”
