The 21enne Alessandro Panariello, died yesterday in an accident at work in Scafati, worked illegally, according to what was reported by the Attorneys Gennaro Caracciolo and Agostino Russo of the Forensis Studio, who are assisting the young man's family.
According to initial reconstructions, Panariello was killed by a steel plate fallen from pulley which he was lifting in a building in the city centre. “The only thing we know about the dynamics”, explain the lawyers, “is that Panariello was on the ground, while another worker was up high when the slab fell on him, and he was still alive when he was taken to the hospital”.
“We died together with our Alessandro”, declare through their lawyers the mother Flora, the latter's partner (Alessandro's father disappeared years ago) and the the 21-year-old's girlfriend, Annachiara. “We will do everything to obtain justice; we will report the employer, also because poor Alessandro was not regular, even though he had always asked for a contract.
Girlfriend Annachiara: “We will do everything to get justice”
Our life has changed forever. We will be forced to move forward with death in our hearts because nothing and no one will be able to give us back our Alessandro”.
The 21-year-old, despite his young age, helped the entire family financially. “These deaths”, says lawyer Caracciolo, “they happen because there is no right culture on the prevention of accidents at work, there is no right culture in companies and the right management and control models of procedures and ways of working are not adopted.
Nothing is done to prevent these situations; it is above all a cultural problem that is even more serious in southern Italy".
In light of the complaint from the family of the young worker who died and on the basis of other testimonies collected by the Carabinieri, we are now awaiting the decisions of the PM of the Nocera Inferiore Public Prosecutor's Office; in the meantime, the construction site has been seized.
