An important step forward for the decontamination of the Sarno river and the protection of the environment Pagani. Thanks to the synergic work of Gori, the Campania Region and the Ente Idrico Campano, the strengthening of the municipal sewerage network has been completed.
The interventions, financed with ERDF funds by the Campania Region for an amount of 1.311.790,05 euros, saw the construction of 3 km of new sewerage network, 2 lifting plants and the connection of 2.500 inhabitants to the sewerage and purification service.
In addition to improving the quality of service for citizens, the completion of the sewerage network has resolved critical issues due to interference between the sewerage network and the water network.
“Pagani has become a positive model of integrated water service management today,” said Mayor Raffaele Maria De Prisco. “We are strongly committed to ensuring that our district provides very strong responses to the issue of drought, through the recovery of water resources, the reduction of waste and the reuse of purified water.”
“The completion of the Pagani sewer network represents another important result of the Energie per il Sarno program,” underlined the President of the Ente Idrico Campano, Luca Mascolo. “A program that, thanks to the synergy between Entities and operators, is achieving ambitious environmental remediation goals.”
The works carried out in Pagani are part of a broader plan of interventions to improve water and sewerage services in Campania, with the aim of improving the quality of life of citizens and protecting the environment.
“Today we celebrate important concrete results together with the community,” concluded Raffaele Coppola, Coordinator of the Sarnese Vesuviano District of the Campania Water Authority. “The challenge is to do our job well, improving people’s lives. We continue to work tirelessly for a better future.”
