There are ten municipalities in Campania that will go to ballot to elect mayors and city councilors. They will be held on Sunday 23 and Monday 24 June.
We start with Avellino the only provincial capital in Campania to vote in the administrative elections, where the centre-left candidate Antonio Gengaro (PD, M5S, Alleanza Verdi-Sinistra, +Europa and others) will compete for the tricolour sash, who obtained 36,98% of the votes in the first round, and the outgoing deputy mayor Laura Nargi, leading a civic coalition, which stood at 32,49%. The choices of the third-placed candidate, journalist Rino Genovese (centre-right civics), who with 21,86% of the preferences is excluded from the runoff, will be decisive.
Second round also in Torre Annunziata, where voting resumed after the dissolution of the Municipality due to Camorra infiltration. The challenge will be between Corrado Cuccurullo, of Pd, Azione, +Europa and others, who gained 41,33% of the votes, and Carmine Alfano (33,75%) of the center-right. Third and fourth place, respectively, for Lucio D'Avino (Oplonti Futura) with 14,47% of the preferences and Mariatonietta Rosaria Zeppetella Del Sesto of the 5 Star Movement (10,46%).
In the province of Naples there will also be a run-off in Sant'Antimo – between the former centre-left mayor Massimo Buonanno (45,25%) and Nicola Marzocchella (44,23%), a centre-right citizen,
San Giuseppe Vesuviano – competing between Tommaso Anderoli (38,02%) of the centre-right and Michele Sepe (32,45%) of the centre-left
Grumo Nevano – between civic Giuseppe Coppola (44,82%) and Umberto Cimmino (36,59%) of the centre-left.
In the province of Caserta There are three municipalities awaiting the second round. In Aversa, the challenge, entirely internal to the center-right, will be between Francesco Matecena (moderate civic lists), who with 49,33% of the votes came close to victory in the first round, and Antonio Farinaro (FdI and others), who obtained 25,87% of the votes.
A Casal Di Principe there will be a runoff between Ottavio Corvino (29,7%) and Elisabetta Corvino (22,05%), while in Castel Volturno it is worth noting the defeat of the outgoing centre-right mayor Luigi Umberto Petrella who, with 29,52% of the preferences, was overtaken by Pasquale Marradino (FI and others), at 33,88%, and by Concetta Anastasia Petrella (PD, M5S, PSI and others), who reached 32,73%.
Voting will also take place again in Nocera Superiore (Sa) where the choice will be between Gennaro D'Acunzi and Enrico Bisogni, and in Montoro, in Irpinia, where Salvatore Antonio Carratù and Girolamo Giaquinto will face each other.
