Naples. Gennaro Capodanno, President of the Valori Collinari Committee and former President of the Vomero District, launches a heartfelt appeal to the Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano, for the reopening of the "Benedetto Croce" Municipal Library in Vomero.
The library, the only one in the hilly area, is currently closed due to issues related to its location. There are plans to relocate it to the ground floor of the multipurpose building on Via Morghen, at an estimated cost of approximately €168. However, the necessary funds have not yet been allocated.
Capodanno, underscoring the importance of a cultural institution like the Croce Library for Vomero, a neighborhood that has already suffered the loss of important meeting places such as the Guida and Loffredo bookstores and several movie theaters, calls on Minister Sangiuliano to intervene to expedite the library's relocation and reopening.

The former President of the Vomero District also expressed concern about the condition of the Croce's book collection, which has been stored in unsuitable premises for over four years. The books, many of which are ancient and valuable, are at risk of serious damage, resulting in both cultural and economic losses.
The New Year's appeal ends with a heartfelt invitation to Minister Sangiuliano not to let the Croce Library disappear, but rather to support its rebirth as the cultural hub of Vomero.
