Naples maxi blitz against the "illegal markets" in Porta Nolana and Piazza Garibaldi, one arrest

Naples. Increased controls by the State Police, Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza, Local Police, and ASIA (Italian State Police) in the Porta Nolana and Piazza Garibaldi areas of Naples, aiming to curb the phenomenon of "illegal markets."

Seizure of goods and one arrest: during the operation, 43 quintals of various goods were seized, including clothing, which were immediately disposed of thanks to the ASIA compactor, thus freeing the area.

A 43-year-old Senegalese citizen, illegally residing in the country, was arrested for assault and resisting a public official after attacking a police officer who was delivering the goods to be disposed of.

Identifications and checks: the operation led to the identification of dozens of people, several with police records, and to the check of numerous vehicles.

A decisive action against illegality: this joint operation represents a severe blow to illegal trade and the presence of “illegal markets” in the areas of Porta Nolana and Piazza Garibaldi, to protect the safety and legality of citizens.
