In Santa Marina, in the hamlet of Policastro Bussentino, the Carabinieri Labor Inspectorate Unit of Salerno and the Guardia di Finanza of Sapri have proceeded with the preventive seizure of five real estate units.
The investigative activities were initiated following checks on workplace safety. The investigators ascertained the construction, in the absence of a valid and effective building permit, of multiple distinct lots of buildings to be used as residential buildings.
On the basis of these elements, over forty charges were raised in building and urban planning matters, for acts committed in an area subject to landscape-environmental restrictions.
In particular, the charges against the clients of the works, the holders of the building permits, the legal representative of a company owning the land, and the legal representative of the company carrying out the works were contested.
As well as a representative of the Municipality of Santa Marina, "for having committed the acts attributed to him with abuse of powers and in violation of the duties inherent to the public function of the temporary Head of the Technical Area of the administration in question", as the investigators say.
