“We immediately activated the experts and will begin careful surveillance of the territory,” says the director of Coldiretti Campania Salvatore Loffreda. “We cannot take any risks.

With the collaboration of Professor Antonio De Cristofaro of the University of Molise and our growers, we will examine every inch of our lemon groves to identify any potential threat. Mal Secco It is a fearsome enemy and at the moment there is no cure, the only weapon we have is to contain it to prevent its spread.”

Coldiretti's commitment does not stop at monitoring. "On Tuesday we had a meeting with the Campania Region's Councilor for Agriculture Nicola Caputo to define a strategy to contain citrus Mal Secco," explains Loffreda. "We will also use the resources of the Ministry of Agriculture to combat the spread of the fungus and safeguard our lemons."

The protection of Campania's agri-food heritage is at the heart of Coldiretti's action. The organization is committed to defending the region's typical products, such as the Sorrento PGI lemon, from any threat, guaranteeing the quality and safety of products made in Campania.
