Threats and violence
The victims, including several women, were intimidated with threats and violence. The suspects threatened to kill them, holding a knife to their throats and saying that they would “slaughter” and “shoot” them if they did not return the interest.
The start of the investigation
The investigation began with a fake report of a rowdy situation on March 5, coming from a home in Torre Annunziata. The officers of the local police station, who intervened on the spot, found one of the victims of usury in a state of terror, after having been summoned by Salvatore Ferraro for a missed payment.
The investigations, coordinated by the Prosecutor Nicola Gratteri, led to the arrest of:
Salvatore Ferraro, known as “o capitano”, 59 years old, already known to the police for aextortion of Savoia Calcio;
Giuseppe Ferraro, 32 years old;
Anna Bove, 56 years old;
Filomena Bove, 58 years old;
Andrea Gallo, 38 years.
