Naples – Dozens of messages are accompanying the disappearance of Claudio Caiazzo, manager of the popular “Taschino”, one of the most famous clubs in Piazza Bellini, which occurred yesterday, Sunday 16 March.
He was much loved and having to accept that he is no longer with us at such a young age – he celebrated his 49th birthday a few days ago – is hard.
Animator of the evenings in the historic center of Naples also as a DJ, Claudio was smile and cordiality, storytelling and courtesy, plus an iron memory for every person who passed by his club; these qualities had made him a point of reference for the frequenters of the area, whether citizens or tourists.
The man that many still call the “director” was among the first to understand the potential of the old area: he had thus moved his business from Chiaia, the area of the “bars”, to Piazza Bellini, much earlier than others.
Collector of vintage rarities, gaming enthusiast, great connoisseur of music and comics, in recent years he had transformed his passions, the turntables and the console, into another profession, organizing very popular house concerts.
And so, in a short time, the historic center of Naples with him lost another protagonist after Gianna, the cigarette seller, and the singer Christian Vollaro who however is continually remembered by the success of his song about Naples, “Primo Agosto, pioveva”.
The news of Caiazzo's death, following a cardiac arrest, quickly made the rounds on social media where many left comments and memories: "A man of a depth and sensitivity tangible to the hearts of the most attentive. Intelligent, funny and unconventional" wrote Viviana who had worked with him at "Taschino".
