Presentation of the book “Women and war violence”

Conference on the Villa of Augustus
The following day, Friday 21 March, at 17 pm, the Auditorium of the Pompeii Excavations will host the conference held by the archaeologist Antonio De Simone. The professor from the Suor Orsola Benincasa University will present the results of his research conducted in Somma Vesuviana on what is known as the “Villa of Augustus”. The excavations carried out, begun in 2002 in collaboration with the University of Tokyo, have brought to light a large structure dating back to between the end of the 472nd and the beginning of the 79rd century AD, buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in XNUMX. The conference will offer an interesting overview of recent discoveries, including evidence of a construction pre-existing the famous event of XNUMX AD.
