“East Naples, a thirty-year-old open wound, a symbol of political immobility. A strategic territory, abandoned to itself, with poisoned aquifers, contaminated soil and unbreathable air. Enough is enough! Enough with empty promises, we want concrete answers on the future of reclamation”.
Thus thunders Gennaro Saiello, regional councilor of the 5 Star Movement, who presses the Campania Region: "We want to know which interventions have been completed and the schedule of those pending. We will not tolerate further postponements or evasive answers".
The Five Star councilor also has in his sights the relocation of industrial and oil activities: “In 2006, a protocol was signed that guaranteed the presence of storage activities until 2026. The deadline is approaching, does the Region intend to respect its commitments or are we ready for yet another extension?”.
Saiello does not mince words: "The citizens of East Naples live in conditions of unacceptable environmental and health risk. The Region can no longer procrastinate, it is time to act".
