ROME – The 6-year-old boy who was seriously injured in the head by a gunshot fired accidentally on the evening of last Saturday, April 13, died this morning around 5 am.
The tragedy occurred inside the family's home, in the area Marconi, where the young man was handling his older brother's weapon, which was legally held. The boy was rushed to the San Camillo hospital and immediately underwent delicate surgery. His condition immediately appeared desperate and, despite the doctors' efforts, he did not make it. The body is now at the disposal of the judicial authorities, who are coordinating the investigation into the incident.
According to an initial reconstruction, the 13-year-old had developed an interest in weapons and, according to his family, had recently learned how to disassemble and reassemble the gun by watching video tutorials on the internet. However, the exact dynamics of the accident remain unclear. The alarm was raised around 23:XNUMX PM on Saturday evening, when the family called for help after the shot was fired.
