Article Key Points
This time the band takes a stand against movements around the world that are recreating tensions that hark back to ideologies that we thought had been defeated at the end of the Second World War.
The piece is a sabre blow that breaks the burning air and unloads the frenzy of the first Hives, bringing you into a choral hardcore with a European architecture. A one and a half minute blow that doesn't leave you with much except the desire to listen to it again. The band states: “We wrote All the Black Stars in 2024 when the presidency in the USA had not yet reached Trump and when the rise of the far-right party in Austria and Germany did not seem to be able to reach its current top position.” This comment highlights the Pankhursts' critical spirit towards the current political situation.
Who are the Pankhursts?
PANKHURST claim to be from Washington DC to claim that the heart of world (black) power is still there. PANKHURST, however, is also the surname of the family of feminists who fought for women's right to vote at the beginning of the twentieth century. The band entered the scene in September 2019 with the release of their first EP THE VOTE. The COVID-19 pandemic kept them away from the live scene, but from November 2022 they began to take their first steps on the stage in Carpi, where they signed with the indie label Sheratan.
The growth of the band
During the lockdown, they managed to work on the second EP ON THE BORDER, released in July 2021, accompanied by the video for the single “No One Wanna Read Tolstoj”. Subsequently, on March 8, 2023, the third EP OUT OF THE KINGDOM arrived, with two videos included. The collaboration with Alessandro Rocca, a very young and already nationally awarded filmmaker, continued from 2021. On September 27, 2024, Pankhurst released “Recognizm”, the opening single from the album “AND THE WAR CAME”, while the second single “Gene Oxyde” is scheduled for release on December 13, 2024. Finally, on January 31, 2025, the third single “Runner” will be released. The band continues to be noticed for its incisive music and the social issues it addresses, marking a growth path that promises an intriguing future.

I read the article and I think Pankhurst are an interesting band, but I'm not sure if their message is clear. The music is good, but the ideologies can be confusing. I hope they clarify their position better.
