Collision at sea off Massa Lubrense, in the province of Naples: the other vessel involved, belonging to a boat rental company in Positano, has been identified and seized.
The Military of the Port Authority of Castellammare di Stabia and of the dependent Local Maritime Office of Massa Lubrense, following the investigative activity, have identified the second pleasure craft involved in the maritime accident that occurred on Friday evening in the locality of Marciano, Massa Lubrense, in the waters surrounding Punta Campanella.
The SAR class 800 patrol boat of the Capri Maritime District Office intervened immediately, rescuing the three shipwrecked people and transporting them safely to the port of Massa Lubrense. The “pirate” boat had not stopped to provide assistance.
The vessel, belonging to a company that deals with leasing and rental based in the port of Positano, has been placed under preventive seizure to proceed with investigative activities.
These, under the coordination of the Torre Annunziata Public Prosecutor's Office, will have to ascertain the dynamics and responsibility of the collision at sea, which fortunately did not cause injuries.
