A 18-hour national strike in the local public transport sector has been called for tomorrow, Thursday 4 July. The strike, called by the trade unions Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uilt Uil, Ugl and Faisa Cisal, will involve Campania with a stoppage scheduled from 11.30:15.30 to XNUMX:XNUMX, with the exception of the EAV company.
In a joint statement, the unions explain the reasons for the protest: “After months of negotiations, the employers' associations of Asstra, Agens and Anav have not responded to the proposals contained in the Guidelines of the Joint Trade Union Platform, taking unacceptable positions. This sector, essential for the mobility of citizens, requires the utmost attention from all the actors involved, especially for problems such as the request for greater resources for the National Fund for Local Public Transport and its fair distribution to the Regions.”
The trade unions highlight the need for a contract renewal that is adequate to the cost of living, that responds to the working and salary conditions of employees, addressing the structural deficiencies of the company's staff and the episodes of physical and verbal aggression against operators.
“The behavior of employers' associations regarding the contract renewal is irresponsible and not consistent with the problems that affect this sector”, say union representatives. “This first one strike, despite the inconvenience it could cause, aims to denounce the critical issues of the sector and to push the parties to sit down at the negotiating table in a serious way, for the future of citizens' mobility."
