Illegal dockings have been discovered at the port of Agropoli, municipality of Salerno and gateway to the Cilento.
This is the result of targeted checks carried out by the municipal police in the port area and, in particular, at the docks managed under concession by the Municipality of Agropoli, specifically to verify compliance with the 'regulations for the management and assignment of water spaces for mooring purposes and accessory municipal equipment managed under concession by the Municipality of Agropoli'.
Several fines were issued for illegal docking or for occupying a municipal mooring without authorization. For violators, a fine of 200 to 1.200 euros.
The owners have been warned to remove the boats within 48 hours. Otherwise, the removal will be carried out to the detriment, with the costs borne by the offenders. For the mayor Roberto Mutalipassi, "respect for legality and rules are fundamental for a civilized life. And these controls go precisely in this direction".
The Port Councilor, Giuseppe Di Filippo, emphasizes that "the local police checks in the port area are a clear message to illegal immigrants. There are specific ways to dock at municipal docks by participating in a specific tender.
The majority of boat owners follow the rules. The small minority that still doesn't will have to do so too."
