Tensions are flaring up again between the Cava and Graziano Camorra clans in Quindici, the scene of a bloody feud for decades over the control of illegal activities in the area. During an operation conducted by agents from the Lauro Police Station, coordinated by the Avellino Prosecutor's Office, Felicetta Cava, 41, a close relative of the boss Biagio Cava, was arrested. The woman was found in possession of an illegally held 6.35 caliber pistol, with a magazine inserted and a round in the chamber.
Felicetta Cava, seriously injured in the ambush of May 26, 2002 known as the “massacre of women,” has been confined to a wheelchair ever since. In that attack, carried out by the women of the rival Graziano clan, Michelina Cava, sister of the boss Biagio, her sister-in-law Maria Scibelli, and the young Clarissa, only 16 years old, lost their lives.
The woman was placed under house arrest pending validation by the investigating judge of the Court of Avellino. The investigations into the 2002 episode, which led to the conviction of those responsible, were followed by the current chief prosecutor of Avellino, Domenico Airoma, at the time deputy prosecutor of the DDA of Naples.
