In Lido di Fermo, at dawn three days ago, the Carabinieri they put an end to the raid by two Albanian thieves, with repeated criminal convictions and no fixed abode.
The criminals, caught inside an apartment while robbing, were found in possession of a rich loot: gold and silver jewelry, over a thousand euros in cash and burglary tools.
Despite the evidence, the two attempted to escape, attacking the soldiers with kicks and punches. The attack caused serious injuries to the Carabinieri, with fractures to the upper limbs and ribs. Despite the violent reaction, the thieves were stopped and handcuffed.
One of the two, a 39-year-old, had escaped from prison in August prison di Santa Maria Capua Vetere, taking advantage of a permit. The other, a 45-year-old, had been expelled from Italy in 2022 but had returned illegally.
The car used for the escape, rented in the province of Caserta, is now at the center of the investigation.
Presented to the GIP of Fermo, both were arrested. The 45-year-old, in addition to the ban on residence in the Marche, was charged with violating the immigration law. After the hearing, he was taken back to the CPR of Bari to await the new expulsion. The 39-year-old, however, returned to prison.
