An investigation by the Salerno Public Prosecutor's Office led to the execution of three interdictory measures against the Siae representative of Salerno and two representatives of a commercial company based in Bologna.
According to the investigations, in exchange for money, the Siae agent would have facilitated the entry of the Bologna-based tech company into the ticketing service for entertainment establishments in the province of Salerno. The order issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Salerno provides for the suspension from the exercise of public service for one year for Claudio Preziosi, 60 years old, Siae representative for the territory of Salerno. Andrea Vitali, 40 years old, owner of the Bologna company, and Omar Riahi, 35 years old, sales manager, have been hit by the temporary ban from carrying out entrepreneurial activities and from holding managerial roles in companies for 9 months.
The charges against the three defendants are serious: corruption and ideological forgery in a public document committed by a private individual. According to the reconstruction by the investigators, Preziosi, exploiting his position as Siae agent, would have "sponsored" the Bologna company to have it take over the ticketing service of various entertainment venues in the province of Salerno. In exchange for this sponsorship, Preziosi would have received compensation in money, justified by issuing false invoices.
The order was executed by the Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit of the Provincial Command of Salerno, who worked closely with the Prosecutor's Office to uncover an alleged corruption and malfeasance scheme that would have affected the Salerno entertainment sector. The investigation is still ongoing and aims to shed full light on any other responsibilities.
