Following the episodes of violence and disorder during the match between Cagliari and Napoli, which ended with a clear 4-0 defeat for the rossoblù, the sports judge imposed a fine of 30.000 euros, with a warning, on both Cagliari Calcio and Napoli. The events took place at the Unipol Domus stadium, where the Cagliari fans of the Curva Sud, in the 25th minute of the first half, threw three smoke bombs towards the away sector reserved for Napoli supporters.
This forced the referee to temporarily suspend the match. The situation was brought back to calm also thanks to the intervention of the Cagliari captain, as recognized by the sports judge.
However, shortly after, some rossoblù fans from the Curva Nord threw more smoke bombs and a firecracker, which caused a firefighter to be slightly stunned. The match resumed after a break of about seven minutes, but in the second half the tension rose again, with the Cagliari fans throwing more firecrackers, smoke bombs and plastic bottles onto the pitch.
Napoli, for its part, was sanctioned for the violent behavior of its fans, who displayed offensive banners and chanted against opposing supporters. In the 25th minute of the first half, the Neapolitan fans threw three smoke bombs, various objects and even seats, causing minor injuries to a steward and a Cagliari fan.
Even in this case, the situation was resolved thanks to the collaboration of the Napoli captain. In addition to these sanctions, the sports judge imposed a fine of 3.000 euros on Atalanta, whose fans, during the match against Fiorentina, they threw plastic bottles onto the pitch and into the playing enclosure.
Finally, two players were suspended for one match: Keita (Parma) and Nicolussi Caviglia (Venezia), both for a double yellow card received due to inappropriate behaviour towards opponents.
