Accident in the Salerno area – A dramatic road accident has shocked the community of Roccapiemonte. Yesterday evening, along via della Libertà (provincial road 104), a 67-year-old woman, a pharmacist originally from Castel San Giorgio, was hit by a car. The woman was rushed to the hospital in Nocera Inferiore, where doctors attempted to stabilize her, but, a few hours after admission, she died from the serious injuries she had sustained.
The police intervened at the scene of the accident to carry out surveys and initial investigations, aimed at reconstructing the dynamics of the collision and the causes that led to the tragedy. The mayor of Roccapiemonte, Carmine Pagano, expressed deep condolences and solidarity to the victim's family.
"For years we have been reporting the danger of this road, where traffic, including heavy traffic, is intense and frequent. With the Province of Salerno it is necessary to find a definitive solution to reduce the risks on this very dangerous artery. In the past we obtained the installation of a traffic light, but we must continue to work to protect the safety of citizens", declared Pagano, underlining the urgency of measures that can limit the speed of vehicles in transit and prevent new accidents.
