Cilento is once again the scene of thefts that fuel fear and insecurity among residents. In the last few hours, homes in Velina, a hamlet of Castelnuovo Cilento, and in Vallo della Lucania, in the San Crescenzo area, have been targeted by thieves, who have used the so-called "fork technique". This stratagem, which temporarily blocks the door lock, allows criminals to gain time and prevent the owners from entering.
In Velina, thieves ransacked a house, while a second attempt in a nearby villa was foiled thanks to the intervention of neighbors. In Vallo della Lucania, however, two homes were robbed on the same night. The loot included bags, jewelry and other valuables.
The investigations are entrusted to Carabinieri, who are working to identify those responsible for these criminal episodes. Meanwhile, the climate of alarm is growing among citizens, concerned about the frequency and audacity of these thefts. Many are calling for increased controls and more incisive measures to ensure safety in the affected areas.
