Among the most curious and symbolic lots that will be auctioned on December 15th in Paris by the Aguttes house, an object stands out that is capable of arousing emotions and discussions: a lock of Diego Armando Maradona's hair. The "Pibe de Oro", an almost divine figure for Naples and Argentina, is still celebrated today as an icon of world football, and this pagan relic could attract enthusiasts and collectors ready to invest significant sums.
Lot 172, as catalogued by the auction house, is described as a “mèche de cheveux” of the former champion, collected on 15 May 2018 in Palm Jumeirah, Dubai. It was kept for years by Stefano Ceci, a Neapolitan entrepreneur and Maradona's historic personal assistant. The lock was cut by a hairdresser during the period in which the Argentine champion was coaching Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates, and since then Ceci has kept it as a tangible testimony of his closeness to the former Napoli number 10.
Although there are other memorabilia related to Maradona - such as the famous hair kept at the Bar Nilo in Naples - this lock has its own uniqueness. According to the experts of Aguttes, its estimated value fluctuates between 35 thousand and 50 thousand euros, a figure that confirms the symbolic importance of the object.
The auction comes at a time of particular attention for the figure of Maradona, on the fourth anniversary of his death, commemorated in Naples with numerous events and celebrations. The city, which has elevated the former Argentine champion to an eternal symbol, could see in this lot an opportunity to keep alive the cult of its unforgettable hero.

I read this article and it seems interesting, but I don't understand why a lock of hair can be worth so much. I'm not sure if it's a good investment or not, but Maradona was a great player.
