Mergellina, loses control of the car and hits those parked

Friday afternoon, around 18 pm, a driver in Mergellina lost control of his car, probably due to high speed, ending up against vehicles parked in double row near the restaurant 'Ciro a Mergellina'.

The images of the accident were sent to the deputy Francesco Emilio Borrelli and to the councilor of Europa Verde of the I Municipality, Lorenzo Pascucci.

The party denounced the episode, stressing that it was the third accident in a week and calling for the installation of raised pedestrian crossings throughout the neighborhood and increased controls against illegal parking attendants to prevent further road tragedies.

“These accidents are now the order of the day, we have counted three in the last week alone, always in the same place. The causes are always the same: the high speed with which motorists proceed on a densely trafficked road and the constant presence of double-parked cars managed by illegal parking attendants.

The paradox is that right after the last accident the parking illegals have repositioned their customers' cars always in double row but on the opposite side of the roadway continuing their activity without stopping. Just last Thursday the Municipality approved a motion of mine with which we ask for additional raised pedestrian crossings in the entire Posillipo neighborhood to prevent new road tragedies.

At the same time, we must continue the relentless fight against illegal parking attendants who Mergellina they still dictate the law and are the cause of roadway narrowings that hinder public transport and make the road unsafe for cars and motorcycles". These are the words of Borrelli and Pascucci.
