With 112 votes in favor and 67 against, the Senate definitively approved the 2025 budget, worth 30 billion, on which the Government has placed a vote of confidence. This budget law, the third of the Meloni executive, makes the grouping of Irpef rates into three brackets structural: 23% up to 28 thousand euros, 35% up to 50 thousand euros and 43% over 50 thousand euros.
Incentives and concessions
The measures to reduce the tax wedge also continue, with the raising of the income threshold that allows to benefit from it from 35 thousand to 40 thousand euros. To encourage births, a one-off amount of 1.000 euros is foreseen for each child born or adopted from 1 January 2025, intended for families with an ISEE not exceeding 40.000 euros per year.
As for businesses, the budget law introduces incentives such as a reduction in IRES for those that reinvest at least 30% of their profits in 2024. On the pension front, those in the contributory system will be able to combine mandatory and supplementary pensions to obtain a pension equal to three times the minimum, allowing early retirement at 64 years of age.
Giorgia Meloni commented: “Let's keep the accounts in order, without giving up on implementing the electoral program, and let's give even more impetus to our commitment to fight real tax evasion and lay the foundations for a new relationship between the State and citizens”, defining the maneuver “another step forward to build a more just, strong and competitive Italy”.
