To tell Castellammare in a constructive manner by leveraging top-quality human material.
"Red of Stabia”, an event conceived by Stefano Fontanella and Pierluigi Fiorenza, awards the Radici Prize to the people of Castellammare who carry the name of Castellammare high, while the Vespucci Prize is awarded to a person who has distinguished himself in the diffusion of Neapolitan art.
The eighth edition, sponsored by the Municipality of Castellammare, will take place on Friday 27 December at the Supercinema starting at 20pm.
This year, the Radici Award will be given to judge Maria Concetta Criscuolo, professor Emma Giammattei, neurosurgeon Cristian Gragnaniello, vocal coach Pachy Scognamiglio, lyricist Carmine Spera and footballer Demba Thiam. The Vespucci Award, on the other hand, will be given to singer and record producer Joe Barbieri who, at the end of the awards ceremony, will give life to his concert “Vulio”. There will also be a video greeting from Giuseppe Lai, captain of the most beautiful ship in the world.
“Rosso di Stabia intends to strengthen the bond of affection between the people of Castellammare and their city by rewarding its deserving citizens. For this reason, every year we create an authentic parade of stars who have made Castellammare great. In previous editions, the following have been awarded, among others: the Attorney General of the Republic Luigi Riello, the judge at the European Court of Strasbourg Raffaele Sabato, the editorialist of Corriere della Sera Antonio Polito, Rosario Castellano former commander of the Armed Forces of Southern Italy, the co-director of the Espresso publishing group and now mayor of Castellammare Luigi Vicinanza, the actors Sebastiano Somma, Gianfelice Imparato, Antonio Milo, Simone Schettino and Dora Romano, the footballer Fabio Quagliarella, the Nastro d'Argento Davide Zurolo, the infectious disease specialist Franco Faella, the Vatican correspondent of Tg3 Vania De Luca, Angela Procida world champion of paralympic swimming, and many others. The Vespucci Prize was awarded in the first two editions to the writer Maurizio De Giovanni and the astrophysicist Maria Felicia de Laurentiis”, declared the organizers Stefano Fontanella and Pierluigi Fiorenza.
"Castellammare can be told in many ways, showing its negative side or the productive side of the good people of Stabia. For us, the winners represent only the diamond tip of Castellammare, knowing that the real treasure is represented by an aware citizenry that fights to reaffirm its dignity" declare the organizers.
The Radici Prize consists of a reproduction of frescoes from ancient Stabia, created by the master Catello De Simone.
