The RI/NATI project opens tomorrow, December 12, in Naples, combining the liveliness of the city with the experiences and voices of second-generation youth. This event, which embraces music, art and education, aims to explore the riches of multiculturalism.

The first event of the project includes a performance by Raiz together with Paolo Polcari. The two founding members of Almamegretta will offer a literary reading accompanied by classic songs from their band, re-arranged for the occasion. Pier Paolo Polcari will curate the original compositions, creating a sound and narrative interweaving. On December 13th it will be the turn of STE, aka Sthepani Ojemba, a young Neapolitan singer of Nigerian origins, with Gea opening. With her warm voice she interprets soul jazz songs and classic pieces from the Neapolitan tradition. On December 14th the Tunisian multi-instrumentalist Marzouk Mejri, now Neapolitan by adoption, will perform with Ibrahim Drabo opening. His music ranges from Tunisian traditions to free jazz, incorporating elements of stambeli and Sufi melisma. Peppe Servillo together with Mangalavite will close the series of events on December 15th, with a journey through words and sounds, in homage to Tiziano Terzani. The entire program aims to explore themes such as modernization, nature, and interconnectedness.
Place and method of participation
The shows will take place in the Church of Santa Croce e Purgatorio al Mercato, in the historic heart of Naples. Admission is free but requires reservation through Eventbrite. During the day, the place will host workshops open to the public upon reservation. The project is part of the Altri Natali 2024 festival, promoted by the Municipality of Naples. RI/NATI represents an important initiative of cultural rebirth and social inclusion, celebrating the city as a crossroads of cultures through universal languages such as music. The events are set in the historic setting of Piazza Mercato, where the recent reopening of the Church reflects a commitment to the cultural development of the area.
