Italy is preparing to face a new front of bad weather. After a start to the year characterized by a weakening anticyclone, an Atlantic disturbance is moving towards the Peninsula, bringing with it rain, snow and a sharp drop in temperatures.
Forecasts
According to the Centro Meteo Italiano, in the next few hours there will be an increase in cloudiness across the entire national territory, with precipitation concentrated in the Tyrrhenian regions and the Alps. On Friday, a cold front will bring significant worsening, especially in Emilia Romagna, the central Adriatic and the southern regions.
The Apennines will be affected by snowfall up to relatively low altitudes, around 900-1200 meters. Temperatures will undergo a generalized drop, with a winter climate that will be felt in many areas.
The weekend
The weekend should be characterized by an improvement in weather conditions, thanks to the arrival of an anticyclonic promontory. However, a new worsening is expected after Epiphany.
In detail
North part: Scattered precipitation, especially in Liguria. Snow on the Apennines above 700-1000 meters.
Centro: Widespread rain, especially in the Tyrrhenian regions. Snow in the Apennines.
South and Islands: More stable weather, but with possible rain in Sardinia.

It seems to me that the weather forecast is never accurate, sometimes they say it will rain and then nothing happens. However, I hope that the bad weather will not create too many problems for those who have to travel on the weekend and during the Epiphany.
