Last night, the State Police arrested a 26-year-old Algerian illegal immigrant, already known to law enforcement, on charges of aggravated robbery.
The episode occurred on Umberto Street, where a tourist was threatened with a knife and robbed of her mobile phone while walking with some friends.
The report came from Vico Campagnari, where the agents of the General Prevention Office, alerted by the Operations Room, intervened for what initially seemed to be a fight.

On site, however, they reconstructed the dynamics of the robbery: the criminal, after threatening the victim, had attempted to escape, but was slowed down by the intervention of some passers-by. This allowed the tourist to recover the phone and the officers to track down the robber thanks to the descriptions provided.
The 26-year-old was stopped shortly after and found in possession of the knife used in the crime. The investigation continues to investigate any other related incidents.
