The Easter holidays are in fact intertwined with the long weekends of April 25th and May 1st, allowing students and teachers to enjoy in some cases almost two weeks of break.
Easter: the longest break from 17th to 22nd April
Most regions have decided to suspend classes from April 17 to 22. The exceptions are Tuscany and Liguria, which will end on April 21, and the autonomous province of Trento, where the break will extend until April 27.
Long weekend of April 25th
Liberation Day falls on a Friday, a perfect occasion for a long weekend. The long weekend has been officially approved by 12 regions, including Campania, Abruzzo, Veneto and the autonomous provinces of Trento and Bolzano.
May Day Bridge
May 1st, Labor Day, will also offer the possibility of another long stop. This year it will fall on a Thursday, and in some regions - such as Piedmont, Liguria and Marche - schools will also be closed on Friday, May 2nd and Saturday, May 3rd.
Attention to school autonomy
Despite regional calendars, individual schools can exercise decision-making autonomy on bridges and suspensions: it is therefore always advisable to check with your institution.
