Pozzuoili - A night of apprehension for the residents of Campi Flegrei, where a seismic swarm of 11 earthquakes shook the earth.
The Vesuvius Observatory recorded the sequence of events, with the most intense shock, of magnitude 2.9, which occurred at 23:39 pm at a depth of 2.2 kilometers, with its epicenter near the Solfatara.
The earthquake was clearly felt by the population, who reported hearing a roar preceding the shock. Fear spread rapidly among the citizens, already worn out by the continuous tremors that have affected the area in recent months.
The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) has intensified monitoring in the area, with particular attention to Monte di Procida and Montenuovo. According to data provided by the INGV, from the beginning of the year to today 3.777 seismic events have been recorded in the Campi Flegrei, of which 2.960 were localized.
Most of the tremors were of very low magnitude, but tonight's event has rekindled fears about the stability of the area.
The situation remains under close observation by the authorities and experts, who continue to monitor the seismic and volcanic activity of the Campi Flegrei.

The news of the earthquakes in Campi Flegrei is worrying. Even if the magnitude is not very high, the fact that there have been so many events makes us think. It is important that the authorities continue to monitor the situation.
