There is a living and poignant echo that crosses time and the stages of memory. It is the voice, the smile, the inimitable talent of Umberto Bellissimo, a multifaceted artist, a refined interpreter of theater and music, who on Sunday 8 June 2025 at 19.30:XNUMX pm will be celebrated, once again, in the setting of the Diana Theater, with the fourth edition of the Award dedicated to him.
An event that has now become a long-awaited and regular event, born from the desire of his wife Paola De Marco Bellissimo and the tireless work of the committee of the non-profit association “Umberto Bellissimo” chaired by Gianni Conte, with the vice-president Giuseppe Giorgio and the members Rosaria De Cicco, Adele Monaco, Antonella Morea and Carlo Piedepalumbo.
An evening that is much more than a simple ceremony: it is an act of love, a tribute to the beauty of art and the nobility of those who have been able to live it with rigor, passion and humanity.
Welcomed as always thanks to the Mirra family in the historic Vomero theatre on Via Luca Giordano, the “Umberto Bellissimo” Award does not limit itself to preserving the memory, but renews the bond between past and present by recognizing the value of those who today continue to hold high the flag of artistic commitment.
Receiving the awards created by the sculptor Salvatore Oliva will be leading figures in the entertainment industry: Bruno Garofalo, who will receive the “Umberto Bellissimo Special Award”; Adriano Falivene, for the “Contemporary Theater and New Scenarios” section; Patrizio Trampetti, with the “Musical Theater” award; and Nunzia Schiano, who teaches as “Best Cinema and Theater Actress”. Four names, four expressive universes, which reflect the same light with which Bellissimo has marked every scene he inhabited.
The evening will be hosted by the journalist and critic Giuseppe Giorgio and the actress and presenter Mirea Flavia Stellato, while on stage will be, among others, artists who were friends and travelling companions of the unforgettable actor, such as Gianni Conte, leader of the Nuova Orchestra Italiana, Pino De Maio, Barbara Buonaiuto and Rosaria De Cicco.
Born to enchant, Umberto Bellissimo has gracefully and talentedly crossed the worlds of theater, music, and television. Unforgettable Sarchiapone in “Cantata dei Pastori” with Peppe Barra, he was directed by Eduardo De Filippo in “La donna è mobile” already in 1981, and then distinguished himself under the direction of great masters such as Luigi De Filippo, Bruno Garofalo, Andrée Ruth Shammah, Mario Santella, Armando Pugliese, Giacomo Rizzo, Antonio Calenda, and Geppy Gleijeses.
In the cinema, he worked with Nanni Loy in “Mi manda Picone”, with Nanni Moretti in “La messa è finita”, and with Salemme, De Crescenzo and Siani. On TV he was a beloved face in “La Squadra” and “Orgoglio”.
Yet, alongside the actor, there always lived the singer, the elegant and intimate performer who was able to tell the story of Viviani and the soul of Naples in his albums “ Bellissimo… Canto a Viviani” and “ Non solo Variété”.
On Sunday, his name will shine again. And in that theater crowded with affection and art, it will be like seeing him still there, on that stage that has never stopped belonging to his soul.
