A fire, probably caused by a short circuit, broke out in an apartment in San Giorgio a Cremano but the rapid intervention of the Municipal Police avoided the worst.
The episode, reported by the mayor Giorgio Zinno on Instagram, it occurred in via De Lauzieres. Alerted by residents, the officers, during a control service, intervened in a condominium where a man was trying to put out the flames by himself.
The city police promptly rescued a family of parents and two children, starting to put out the fire with the help of fire extinguishers provided by local merchants.
The arrival of the Fire Brigade then allowed the flames to be definitively extinguished. Also on site was Mayor Zinno, who coordinated the assistance interventions for the family and the condominiums involved.

The mayor expressed gratitude to the Municipal Police officers for their courage and dedication, underlining the great spirit of collaboration demonstrated by the community. “An example of humanity and service for San Giorgio a Cremano,” he concluded.
