Pozzuoli – An earthquake of magnitude 1.8 was recorded this morning at 4:35 am near Via Enea, in the Monte Nuovo crater area, in the municipality of Pozzuoli, Campi Flegrei area.
The Vesuvius Observatory reported this, having detected the event at a depth of approximately 2,76 km. The tremor was reported by numerous residents, some of whom also reported hearing a loud bang.
The mayor of Pozzuoli, Luigi Manzoni, has released an official message confirming the seismic event. At the moment there are no reports of damage to people or things.
The Campi Flegrei area continues to be carefully monitored by experts due to the ongoing bradyseismic activity. The earthquake It comes four days after the last event recorded on May 8.
